Next NMMS Meeting:  7:30pm on Monday, 1 March 2004, at the NM Museum of Natural History
Program:  John Rahart will continue his presentation "Foray in Tlaxcala & Western Veracruz States"
Message from NMMS President John Rahart - With spring nearing, we may yet get enough moisture for a few early flushes. Then we go on to the big ones of Summer and Autumn, our Foray, and hopefully a bountiful and memorable 20th for NMMS. I do so enjoy our magnificent diversity of Fungi, and our incredible edibles. It was just a mere 5 years ago I knew nothing of Fungi! Now I find myself invited to give programs to Myco audiences! Often I am asked, how do you approach learning such a massive field. Honestly, I was overwhelmed until I tripped up on advice and examples of how to approach the problem METHODICALLY. With that in mind, I am preparing a PowerPoint presentation to augment and illustrate this approach: A Methodical Approach To Identification. If there is sufficient interest, I will do the presentation for NMMS before the season spins up, and hopefully we will all sharpen our ID skills. It really worked for me.
