Gulf States Mycological Society Missouri Foray
13-15 July, 2001 The Gulf States Mycological Society will hold its summer foray July 13-15 at the Georgetowne Inn at Hillsdale, Mississippi. Hillsdale is located on I-59 just north of Poplarville, and 2 hours north of New Orleans, LA. Joe Krawczyk of Field & Forest Products will speak to us about mushroom cultivation. Joe has worked in Mississippi in past years and is familiar with southern rainfall and temperatures. A shrimp boil will be held on Friday evening and preparations made for Saturday morning field trips to local areas including the DeSota National Forest. Approximate cost will be $150/single and $110/double. This will include lodging and all meals except Saturday lunch, which will be available from local eateries in foray areas.
